Welcome to the ‘Character Guides’ page. Here, I’ll be showing you how to use all characters. Yeah, all, it’ll be good for you and for me, since I want to learn how to use them. But first, I’ll show you the characters I can use the best.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

Sonic teh hedgehog!

Sonic is a perfect character for experts alike, because he’s the fastest character in the game, and nearly impossible to control. Once in the air, Sonic can use a DOWN+A move, which packs a brutal down kick, with alot a force, perhaps a 1-hit KO within use. However, if used in the ‘wrong’ place, this move can totally backfire, which is why you have to be careful.

His UP+B jump is great, and I cleared lvl. 5 Target Smash!! with it, but sadly, it can only be used once (once used) and cannot attack during landing. Though said, his jump is the height of Lucas and Ness’, and with a double jump, his jumping skills are fantastic. Yet again, these ‘jump skills’ are usually of the experts’ work, and hard to get used to.

Though said, his attacks are great for an intermediate, especially his B attack, a homing attack, which is great for dodging, attacking and recovering.

OVERALL VIEW

1. DIFFICULTY: He’s quite hard to use, but in some cases, like simple attacking, he can be really good… for difficulty, I’ll give Sonic a 8/10.
2. JUMP: It’s great, really. Shame about recovery. For jump, I’ll give Sonic a 8/10.
3. SPEED: In fact, perhaps he’s TOO fast! But this is a rating of speed, and as the fastest character in the game, he honestly deserves a 10/10. But note – this is almost a bad thing!
4. ATTACK: He’s not too powerful, but sometimes can pack a few powerful punches. 7/10.

OVERALL: A great character to play around with. But sadly, I just recommend him for the experts.

PIKACHU

PIKACHU!

 

 

 PIKACHU is simply a fantastic character. First, we’ll start of with the good things about PIKACHU.

• He’s great at edge-guarding, using Thunder to knock the enemy off, not letting them hang on the edge
• He’s superb at the ’start attack’, spamming Jolt
• He’s excellent at ‘the high jump’, when the enemy is above PIKACHU, he uses Thunder to throw him up, then spamming under the opponent until they fly off the screen/stage.
• His recovery is top-notch

…and the bad things.

• He gets knocked off easily
• His recovery is 2-part; which, for PIKACHU, isn’t very helpful
• HE’S A MIDGET!

So, as you can see, there are more good points about PIKACHU than bad. So, overall, this makes PIKACHU the best Pokémon character in Brawl. So, let’s rate.

1. DIFFICULTY: Perfect for beginners and experts alike. 9.5/10
2. JUMP: Great, high jump. Good recovery – shame about 2 part being a bit hard to control – but if you practice, practice practice, you can really make use of it. 8.7/10
3. SPEED: He is not so slow that he’s an easy target and not so fast that he’s hard to control. 9/10
4. ATTACK: Fantastic! Great! Superb! A well deserved 9/10

OVERALL: To me, the near-best character in the game.
